Ice Wireless Prepaid Cell Phones

Editor Rating
Overview

Ice Wireless is the first wireless phone carrier in the Yukon and Northwest Territories.

Pros: For heavy users, the base fee provides unlimited nights and weekends and cheaper calling rates.

Cons: The base charge is required, and can make monthly calling rates rather expensive if you don't use many night and weekend minutes. Nothing is available online, so you have to go to a retail store to see their inventory of phones.

Detailed Provider Information

Plans: Ice Wireless offers five tiers, all of which have an 8 cents per minute rate. They come in packages of 60, 120, 180, 250, or 300 minutes. Overage minutes cost 20 cents each. Customers can then add a basic plan for 25 dollars. This includes unlimited evenings starting at 7 p.m., unlimited weekends, and unlimited incoming text messages. Ice Wireless also has a Family & Friends plan, which allows customers to add multiple lines. It requires a minimum of 5 people, and includes all the perks of the basic plan, plus the ability to call all members of the account for free at any time. An early evenings and weekends package, starting at 5 p.m., is available for 7 dollars per month per line.
